Golf Magazine Rates Myrtle Beach's Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links One of South Carolina's Top 20 Courses
Little River, SC (PRWEB) August 24, 2008 -- Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links, located in Little River, S.C. has been named one of the best courses in South Carolina according to Golf Magazine's "first-ever" ranking of the best courses in each state. The list appears in the September issue of Golf Magazine.
"To be listed as one of South Carolina's top 20 golf courses is quite an honor," said Jason Himmelsbach, director of marketing for the Glens Golf Group. "There are more than 300 golf courses in South Carolina, so it's very rewarding to be among the 20 best and to be ranked with nationally renowned courses like Kiawah's Ocean Course and Harbour Town."
Glen Dornoch is located on the northern end of the Grand Strand. It was designed by Clyde Johnston and offers golfers a traditional round of golf as each hole flows with the natural terrain of lakes, live oaks and spectacular march and river views. The club house at Glen Dornoch features a tranquil view of the unique double green of holes 9 and 18, plus a magnificent view of the Intracoastal Waterway.
"Glen Dornoch is often referred to as Myrtle Beach's Most Talked About Course," said Himmelsbach. "There are more than 100 courses here and Golf Magazine's rankings put Glen Dornoch among the top ten in the area. That will definitely keep the talk going."
The rankings were determined by Golf Magazine's course-ranking panel, editorial staff, and "well traveled spies."
More information on Glen Dornoch is available online at www.glendornoch.com or www.glensgolfgroup.com or by calling 1-800-717-8784.
